Whale Festival is associated with the legend Gia Long king, who was rescued by the whale at sea.
Each year many local areas in Khanh Hoa celebrate this festival to remember Whale’s contribution.
These festivities are tied to a legend in which Emperor Gia Long was saved by a whale while he was at sea. Every year, there is a celebration in Khanh Hoa in honour of the Whale. The rituals are held in communal houses and during the ceremony there is ba trao singing and chau performances.During the procession, it has the “Ba Trao” and then the “Trau Van” singing.
